Meet The Team

Tyler and Kevin’s kinship started over 20 years ago, first meeting through soccer at the age of 10. Both wildly competitive and equally as passionate, they bonded instantly. Basically being together ever since, they’ve shared countless experiences from soccer, snow, cycling, and life; Kevin was the one to motivate and convince Tyler to move to Salt Lake City with him in 2010. Fast forward, all these years later their love of bicycles is still strong. Both still living out west, creating new bikes inspired by their surroundings. Committed to craftsmanship, versatility, and personalization, they launched Pine Cycles to pay homage to their roots, and to continue to push boundaries into the future.

KEVIN McCLELLAND
DESIGNER // CO-FOUNDER
Kevin has been a designer, tinkerer and athlete since early childhood. His love and passion for bikes started with exploring local abandon hiking trails in his hometown of Traverse City, MI. Shortly after his discovery of MTB, Fixed Gear ‘s grew in popularity and Kevin’s garage became the un-official bike shop to convert old road bikes into fixed gears. After college, Kevin moved to Salt Lake and began working for some incredible outdoor companies but the goal of starting a company never withered. Pine Cycles was conceptualized in 2015 when he wanted a USA Made Bike that could do everything a drop bar bike could, and more. In 2021 after 5 amazing years at ENVE composites working with framebuilders, Kevin took the leap with best friend Tyler and founded Pine Cycles. Now Days he can be found at the start line of bikepacking races like Dark Divide 300, The Big Lonely or on the other end of the phone at Swift Industries and Rapha Seattle

TYLER HUBBELL
OPERATIONS // CO-FOUNDER
From cycling to snowboarding, Tyler has always had a passion for being outside and going fast. Growing up in Northern Michigan, building jumps on his Dyna BMX transitioned to a love for tearing apart and converting classic road bikes into fixed gears. Tyler moved to Salt Lake City in his early 20’s, trading in small hills and minimal traffic for massive mountain peaks and a larger city experience. He has worked for numerous outdoor companies since landing here in SLC, shaping his vast experience in the industry, and learning the inner workings of the businesses that surround the valley and beyond. Cycling has remained a passion for Tyler throughout this time, now spending his saddle time between bikepacking and mountain biking through the mountains of the west.
